Length of Validity
With few exceptions, all persons in Illinois must register in order to vote. Once registered, however, a voter remains validly registered until such time as the voter moves, has a name change, or as the result of canvass by mail.
Registration Hours
The Village Clerk’s Office provides voter registration services for residents of the Village of Chicago Ridge. Residents may register at the Village Hall on Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until Noon. Applications to register to vote by mail are also available at the Village Hall. Registration closes 28 days prior to an election and resumes two days after an election.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to register, a person, as of the day of the next election, must be:
- A citizen of the United States.
- 18 years of age or older.
- A resident within his or her precinct for at least 30 days
Identification
Two forms of identification are required and one must have your current Chicago Ridge address. Completed voter registration applications are forwarded to the Cook County Clerk’s Election Department in Chicago, Illinois. Official voter cards are then mailed from the county to each registrant at their home address within approximately six weeks of registration.
